Jesus, Transgenderism, and Gay Marriage

The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Matthew 19:3-4

Recently I saw a meme stating that Jesus didn’t say anything against gay marriage, so it must be okay. Sadly, it came from an apostate Episcopal Church page. I figure the meme creator was one of these people who have about as much knowledge of the Bible as my cats, but will not hesitate to twist it in an attempt to shame or silence Christians.
The Lord never said not to stick your head in a bucket of water and inhale deeply, either, so it must be okay, right? No, not really. We know that the scriptures tell us things that God says are right, and things he says are explicitly wrong. In this case, the Lord tells us what is explicitly right, the standard for marriage, and in so doing, we can ascertain what is explicitly wrong behavior.
The context: the Pharisees came to Jesus with a question about divorce, probably in an attempt to entrap him in some way. The Lord immediately reminded them that in the beginning God made man, male and female. That’s it. It’s simple biology. Now, as a linguist, I don’t like to use the word “gender” in reference to human beings, for nouns and adjectives have gender (masculine, feminine, or neuter), not people. There are not 69 genders, or more than two sexes, so in this passage, the Lord establishes the standard: male, female, and nothing else. Anyone saying they are of the sex opposite to which they were born, and demanding acceptance of that is in violation of that standard established by Jesus, and is in sin and rebellion against God. This nonsense being foisted on us by the cultural Marxists must not be enabled or accepted by the church, but condemned and expelled.
Then Jesus moved on to marriage itself. Because God created man male and female, a man leaves his parents, cleaves to his wife, and they become one. One man, one woman in a covenant before God and with one another constitutes marriage. Anything else violates the standard set by Christ, and is rebellion against him. Anyone who says Jesus never said anything about these issues, so they must be acceptable, is flat-out ignorant or a wicked liar. The acceptance of homosexuality and gay marriage must be rejected and condemned by the Church, otherwise the Church is denying Christ.
These are the standards, the rules, set by the Lord Jesus Christ. What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. The relationship of a man and woman in marriage is a type, an image, of the relationship of Christ and his Church. Spurred on by Satan, cultural Marxism wants to destroy that image, destroy the relationship between men and women, and destroy the family and children. First was feminism with its false equality and disruption of male-female relationships, then the acceptance and celebration of homosexuality was foisted upon us. Lately, the push has been for transgenderism. The end goal is the acceptance of pedophilia, and the push for that has started with the addition of P to LGBTQ. For a short, excellent exposition on how this has transpired in the West, I recommend this talk by Bishop Gavin Ashenden at this year’s GAFCON conference. This man has been in the trenches for years, and finally left the Church of England over its convergence.
Summary: The meme was false. Jesus did say a lot about gay marriage by what he did not say. At the same time, he destroyed transgenderism. The Lord gave us God’s standard for marriage. Anything contrary to that is sinful rebellion, and any church which accepts this evil denies Christ, for denying his words is the same as denying him. Those who repent of these sins, trust in Christ alone for salvation, and seek to live chaste lives should be accepted and receive long-term compassionate pastoral counseling. Therefore, it is necessary for the church to preach the true Gospel, to preach against sin, and to fight those who seek to destroy us by convergence. How else will people know what sin is, why it is sin, and how to be freed from its power?
Note: Anglican is well-aware of the psychiatric condition called gender dysphoria, a mental illness which can be professionally treated. The mentally ill should be treated with compassion.
