The 2nd Sunday in Advent

The Collect BLESSED Lord, who hast caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning; Grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and comfort of thy holy Word, we may embrace, and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life, which thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen. The Epistle Romans xv. 4. WHATSOEVER things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation...

The First Sunday in Advent

The Collect ALMIGHTY God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal, through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and ever. Amen. The Epistle Romans xiii. 8. OWE no man any...

Why I Go To Church

The dappled colors from the stained glass window played across the altar onto the tiles in front of the altar rail. I listened to my priest repeat these words to each communicant: “The Body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for thee, preserve thy body and soul unto everlasting life. Drink this in remembrance that...

A Prayer For Those in Harm’s Way in Texas, and, shortly, in North Carolina

Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech thee, of thy great goodness, to restrain those immoderate rains, wherewith thou hast afflicted us; And we pray thee to send us such seasonable weather, that the earth may, in due time, yield her increase, for our use and benefit; and give us grace, that we might learn, by thy visitations, to amend our lives, and for the clemency to give thee thanks and praise; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (From the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, Reformed Episcopal...

Observations on Hurricane Harvey

This is not a detailed chronicle of Hurricane Harvey with specific times, dates, and names. Rather, it is just a record of my observations while sitting in my house in West Harris County, TX. As I write this (Saturday – Monday), Houston is a massive lake. The usual places have flooded, but even neighborhoods that have never before flooded are now under water. I am fortunate to live in the county, not the city, and the houses in my neighborhood are a couple of feet higher than the street, so no water in the house. Oh sure, the street...

Purpose and Mission

Men of The West seeks to clarify the issues of the day and build a community of like minded men who worship Jesus Christ. To unify them across Christendom to steel them against the barbarians who are either at the gates, or already inside them. We will celebrate, defend, and expand Western Civilization and the values and traditions that created it.

There is no substitute for victory.

We are the Hard Right.
