National Rot

A queer thing happened on the way to the liquidation of the Republic:

Washington (CNN) Antony Blinken, President-elect Joe Biden’s pick to lead the State Department, said Tuesday that he plans to swiftly appoint an LGBTI envoy, allow embassies to fly the pride flag and formally repudiate the findings of the controversial “Commission on Unalienable Rights.” …

It would be difficult to find a more blatant repudiation of the rule of God than flying the rainbow flag as a symbol of our national policy. Not only does it blasphemously repurpose the symbol of one of God’s most important promises, it does so to promote two things God especially hates: pride and sexual immorality.

But we are not just promoting sexual deviance internally. America has taken the lead in recent years in promoting (or at least decriminalizing) sodomy all over the world:

BERLIN — The Trump administration is launching a global campaign to end the criminalization of homosexuality in dozens of nations where it’s still illegal to be gay, U.S. officials tell NBC News, a bid aimed in part at denouncing Iran over its human rights record.

U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, the highest-profile openly gay person in the Trump administration, is leading the effort, which kicks off Tuesday evening in Berlin. The U.S. embassy is flying in LGBT activists from across Europe for a strategy dinner to plan to push for decriminalization in places that still outlaw homosexuality — mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.

It was less than two decades ago (Lawrence v. Texas, 2002) that the United States Supreme Court found a right to sodomy in our own Constitution, ostensibly emanating from the same penumbra as the right to abortion. They would later find the right to the homosexual parody of marriage* in there as well. I suspect that within a few years we will be mandating that our trade partners allow gay marriage and fund a quota of abortions before they are given unfettered access to our markets.

But the slippery slope is only a fallacy to those with sufficiently short attention spans. To those who pay attention over the longer term, the intertia** of nations is obvious. Once the gangrene is sufficiently established, they go on rotting until acted upon by an outside force. Promoting sin as a national policy is among the worst and most obvious kinds of rot.

As a man sows, so shall he reap. The same is true of nations.

* If there is a more outrageous example that the rainbow flag of a nation begging God to open a can of whoopass, the Supreme court’s gay marriage decision may do it. I know that’s the date that I decided America had turned the corner of Handbasket Road onto Hell Expressway.

  1. The US of A empire has been on a long downward trend for 50+ years. Empires on average last about 250 years, so the USA is there (end of empire). The only thing keeping this husk of a country relevant is the petro-dollar reserve currency. When that is gone, so to is the USA. Plus the $200 trillion in debt and unfunded mandates, which will never be paid, is another catalyst for the collapse. Many people do not realize that the end is on the horizon, because we are in the “Age of Decadence” in regards to the USA empire. The bread and circuses will continue until it cannot. The rot of the “culture” is all part of the fall the empire playbook (see Rome, England, et.al). I laugh to myself when I hear “knowledgeable” people tell me the USA empire is different? It’s not. Sure the USA empire will use it’s thugs to enforce “laws” on the empire’s people, that will be a temporary thing. “Laws”, just like “The Constitution” are toilet paper for “elites”. But for us commoners we must obey. People are people, much like the Roman empire people living in the empire’s lands far from Rome, these people just ignored the diktats of Rome as time went on. It will happen here, collapse is a given, and ongoing (in the next 10-15 years or so). What comes next, is in God’s hands. I pray to God to give me the wisdom, strength, fortitude and anything else I will need to navigate this collapse that is coming.

    • Hey Jim, well written and I agree with all of it. I have to wonder if Christians shouldn’t try to stop the collapse. If America, which in it’s heyday, launched a multitude of overseas missions wouldn’t that be worth trying to restore?

I see Romans 1:18-32 taking place in front of our eyes. God has “given us over”. If we can restore America it is going to have to the Christians that lead the way. The only solution is for Christians to forsake our comfort, prosperity and non-essential church activity and get out there in the streets and witness of the “wrath to come” because “through the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.”

  2. I’ve rarely commented here, but this merits one. I’ve said for many years that there has never been a society in the history of the world that ever achieved or maintained greatness after having openly accepted homosexuality.

    Great article.
