Yes, we were truly the unwanted generation. Now, having said that, my parents did want children and tried for several years before having me. I have a mixed parentage: Silent Dad, Boomer Mom. Dad was very traditional; Mom was not.
My parents definitely wanted my sister and me, and were very affectionate toward us. I suppose they were mostly going along with the cultural tide when they made those comments.
The title of this lecture will, to a great majority of people, seem so forbidding that I feel it needs a justification, if not an apology. Art aims at creating the impression
